To provide a base understanding of procedures, operations, equipment, safe operating practices associated with onshore and offshore oil installations.

Intended For:  

People with little or no previous knowledge of the oil industry, but whose business efficiency will improve through a better understanding of general oil industry operations.

Drilling fluids
Drilling operations
Blowout preventers
Well control
Completions design
Drill stem testing
Wireline operations
Fishing operations
Wellhead equipment
Production operations
Valve metering, pigging pipelines

Day 4, of the course is filled by revision simulation exercises on a PC based drilling simulator, followed by a visit to an established oil field equipment supplier. This is an SQA approved course.
