Outline:  

Over the last few years, the topic of conflict and conflict management has become increasingly important to managers with organisations of all sizes. Research has shown that some managers spend up to 50% of their time dealing with conflict.

However, as this course demonstrates, when managed appropriately, conflict can be a positive and productive force in decision making and can lead to stronger organisational performance.

Objectives:

- Appreciate how conflicts arise and develop and the stages of the conflict process
- Identify personal preferences among various conflict strategies and their advantages and disadvantages
- How to use collaborative approaches to conflict management
- How to handle conflict and manage agreement
